For your convenience we offer private in-home dog training lessons and behavior consultations that are completely tailored to your needs and wishes. We serve the entire Denver Metro Area and surrounding communities. You can choose to have just one consultation or multiple lessons which are followed up by optional advanced group dog training practice classes that are unlimited for your dog’s lifetime.
The reason that we start out with private dog training lessons and not in a group class is that dogs have a hard time learning with a lot of distractions around. How would you like to learn to drive a stick shift in the middle of Manhattan? Once they have learned the obedience skills in a quiet environment they can come practice their new skills in our advanced group dog training practice classes. We also have found that the one-size-fits-all approach of a group dog training class doesn't work as well, because everyone has different dog problems and wishes.
Our private dog training lessons cover the following subjects:
Behavior Problems
Our canine friends are very creative and can come up with about a million behaviors we don’t like. We can help you fix really serious problems such as biting, dog to dog aggression and severe phobias as well as simply irritating ones such as jumping up, chewing on the wrong things, excessive barking and house soiling.
Off-Leash Dog Obedience Training
We teach you how to train your dog to be a well behaved cooperative member of your family and society. Your dog will learn to respond to requests such as sit, down, come, heel, go to your bed, leave it, drop it, wait, stay and any others that are of importance to you.
Dog Behavior Education
A lot of frustration is the result of not understanding why dogs do what they do. We will teach you everything you always wanted to know about Positive Dog Training, the Science of Behavior, Leadership and Dominance, Dog Language and Bite Prevention. Feel free to ask us as many questions as you want as we would like you to understand your dog completely.
Child-Proofing
Children and dogs can be best of friends, but unfortunately this doesn’t happen automatically. Dogs and children don’t speak the same language and this can lead to misunderstandings that can cause dogs to bite children. This is 100% preventable. When we train dogs how to behave around children and teach children how to behave around dogs, they can have a fun, harmonious and long lasting relationship.
Cost
Private dog training lessons/consultations within the Denver Metro Area are $85 per lesson. Clients in surrounding communities (Evergreen, Conifer, Castle Rock, Elizabeth, etc.) pay an extra trip charge of $10 per lesson. To do an entire obedience course most people take about 4 to 5 lessons. However, you aren't committed to any number of lessons and can take as little or as many as you like. The first lesson is 1.5 hour and every lesson thereafter is 1 hour. The first one doesn't cost more and the fee is still only $85 per lesson even if you have multiple dogs.
The optional follow-up advanced group dog training practice classes are a one time fee of $85 after which you and your dog can attend as many group classes as you want for the lifetime of your dog without any further charges.
Scheduling
To accomodate your busy schedule we are available for appointments on weekends and weekday evenings as well as weekdays. If you require more than one lesson/consultation, you can schedule the appointments as close or as far apart as you would like. We've done our best to make our program as easy, fun and flexible as possible.
The optional advanced group practice classes are taught in Arvada on every other Saturday from 9am to 10am.
